Delivering the Chiropractic Message

courtesy of LoneGunMan If you have read my blog, watched my videos, or listened to the talk radio show, you know that I have no problem communicating the importance of Chiropractic for you and your family. Boldly taking a stance for your health has become a part of my “genetic fiber”. What you probably don’t know is that I did not always have the confidence or the skills that I enjoy today. As a matter of fact I used to be frustrated, knowing I had a message that I desired to deliver to the world, but lacked the “voice” to deliver it.

Have you Ever Been in a Rut?

About 7 years ago I had, what most would consider, an ordinary Chiropractic practice. People would come in my office to get rid of their symptoms and leave pain free. The problem was that I knew that Chiropractic had more to offer my practice members then just removing pain and restoring range of motion. I knew that removing subluxation restored nerve function and allowed your body to achieve full human potential. I knew there was more I could be doing to help my patients, but I was stuck not being able to explain it. This left me unsatisfied and unfulfilled with my work. Worse than that, I had come to the conclusion that I would be stuck undeserving my patients for the rest of my career. I believed that I would never have the skill to educate my community about benefits of Chiropractic care.

7 years ago I attended the Association of New Jersey Chiropractic (ANJC) convention and I heard a speaker that would change my life. He spent 45 minutes passionately delivering the most motivating Chiropractic message that I had ever heard. Up to that point I had never heard someone so confidently proclaim what I had felt so deeply in my heart, that Chiropractic was in fact “Mans greatest gift to Man”. Here was a guy, who looked no different than me, (about 5’8, bald, and with a NY/NJ attitude), doing what I never thought I could do, speak with confidence.  I said, “I have to meet this guy”!

This was my Turning Point

That was the day I met my teacher and mentor, Dr. Eric Plasker.  I had never seen or heard of him before, nor did anyone I knew.  We spoke for about an hour that day and something inside me said, “this is your chance, trust this guy, he will help you”.  Well, that little voice was right.  He has taken me from where I was, to where  I am today.  I have traveled all over the country with Dr. Eric, and even to the Bahamas.  He has taught me how to run a successful family practice, the importance of leadership, how to achieve a work/family balance, and most importantly helped me find “my voice”.

Giving Credit Where Credit is Due

Dr. P and I

I talk allot about Human Potential, and Longevity, most of which I learned from Dr.Plasker.   I am proud to say that Eric is currently the author of the best selling books, The 100 Year Lifestyle and The 100 Year Lifestyle Workout book.  He has inspired me to write my own book, “the 5 Secrets to Living Longer“.  I continue to walk in my Mentors footsteps and am proud to call him my friend.

Sir Isaac Newton wrote: “If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants.” -Thanks Dr. Plasker, “We are just getting started”!

Well said Doc. I’ve been around for most of this transformation. You have come a long way. Someday you will be someone’s mentor! Never stop spreading your Chiropractic message.
